We are currently working with our direct end client in St. Paul MN who is looking for a consultant for a contract to potential hire. Due to export control laws, candidates must be US citizens or Green Card Holders. Resources must work on site Monday through Friday.
The primary responsibility of the Enterprise Portal (EP) Support Analyst is to ensure the availability of the Portal application for end users by resolving incidents and/or problems escalated from the Service Desk and Business Services teams. The SAP EP Support Analyst provides the day-to-day support for the administration, configuration and maintenance of the Enterprise Portal component within the SAP landscape. The SAP EP Support Analyst provides expertise to the SAP Support organization by providing Operational support and technical support for SAP Portal and related SAP Components. The job requires On-Call Support for US non-Business hours. The candidate must be proactive and demonstrate Strong troubleshooting and technical analysis skills.
* Resolve incidents escalated from the Business Service Center and Service Desk teams * Escalate incidents, as necessary, to the appropriate team or vendor while actively retaining ownership of the incident on behalf of the users. Notify users of resolutions. * Meet or exceed agreed upon service levels defined in the Service Level Agreement * Monitor performance of the SAP Portal applications and associated end-user experience * Communicate and work with business end users as necessary to resolve application errors * Perform technical configuration and administration of Portal software. * Responsible to help support upgrades, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Portal component of the SAP system and associated technologies * Responsible for assisting with SAP Portal patches management, OSS note installation and back-ups * Perform development of enhancements and customization to Portal. * Provide expertise with Portal technologies and standards. * Provide Environment Migration Support to include moving objects between environments within an SAP landscape * Seek opportunities to develop and maintain knowledge of business processes, application functionality, configuration and administrative activities through shadowing with other team members, knowledge transfer, and other training * Help with regular reviews and analysis of Incident Management data to highlight causes of frequent or high impact failures and suggest preventative action * Drive expanded use of Portal by recommending potential enhancements. * Recommend operational continuous improvement opportunities, service efficiency initiatives, and business process improvement to better serve business needs * Participate in minor enhancement design reviews to verify that design meets quality and technical standards, as well as functional/technical requirements * Make recommendations on functional and technical improvements to the application to improve end user experience * Maintain solutions and implemented business packages. * Collaborate with all areas of ERP technology including functional teams, Basis, QA, development, and data management.
* Bachelors degree, Information Technology related * Minimum 7 years IT experience * Minimum 3 years of SAP Enterprise Portal in version 7.X or higher * Minimum 1 year of Java script, XML development experience * The candidate must be proactive and demonstrate Strong troubleshooting and technical analysis skills.
* Strong customer relationship skills * Comfortable with ambiguity, active inquiry skills, strong written communication skills * Ability to work collaboratively across teams * Effectively participate in virtual, global and distributed teams * Experience with HTML, CCS, Java and web solution development * Expertise in Portal administration * Expertise in ABAP WebDynpro, Java WebDynpro * Knowledge of Transports, CTS+ * Expertise in UWL and Workflow in other SAP components (ECC, HCM, CRM, GRC etc.) * Expertise in Business packages for ESS, MSS, SRM, etc * Knowledge of NWDS and NWDI * Experience in supporting and deplying Global SAP Portal Implementations * Knowledge of Portal Specific Security (UME) configuration, LDAP roles/groups * Understanding of SAML, SSO, WSRP, Identity Managament, and Security Token Services concepts * Knowledge and understanding of software development and testing methodologies * Knowledge and understanding of operational support processes (e.g. ITIL) * Experience working with BMC Remedy, trouble tickets * Understanding of business processes
