||We are currently working with our direct end client in Eagan, MN who is looking for a network engineer for a long term contract.
The Network Engineer will assist with the design, implementation, maintenance and support of the Paisley Hosting Services network infrastructure, assist with and/or lead projects related to Paisley Hosting Services technical infrastructure, and interface with internal and external customers to troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues. The Network Systems Engineer will also interface with the Managed Services Providers in the implementation and management of network routing, firewalls, switches, load balancers, VPNs, Intrusion detection devices, two factor authentication, etc. The Network Systems Engineer is also responsible to assist in new project build outs including systems and application administration tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Support, monitor, test and troubleshoot network hardware and software problems for internal and external end-users * Evaluate and recommend network hardware/software and associated upgrades * Provide strategic direction to the Paisley Hosting Services network and systems architecture * Document network policies and procedures as they are defined and changed * Maintain Hosting infrastructure documentation * Lead and support small projects * Automate repetitive tasks and actions * Assist in new infrastructure setup projects including system admin/application admin tasks * Evaluate new technologies and recommend appropriate actions to take to improve the ability of Hosting Services to provide a quality service to its customers * Ability to work on-call during non-business hours * Provide 24x7 on-call support within a team rotation * Other duties as assigned
* BA/BS in related field or commensurate work experience * CCNP Certification REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: * Expert knowledge of WAN/LAN network architecture * Expert knowledge of Cisco IOS * Expert knowledge of firewall management EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: * Minimum 4 years experience with the following technologies: ? Cisco Managed Switching ? Firewall Technologies (Checkpoint and Juniper) ? Load Balancing ? LAN/WAN Network Architecture/Engineering ? VPN ? MPLS ? Network packet tracing/sniffing ? Network performance tuning ? Intrusion detection/protection ? Two Factor Authentication * Excellent networking troubleshooting and problem solving skills * Excellent documentation skills * Linux/*nix systems administration exposure * Windows Server 2003 administration exposure * Application server exposure * Experience in providing direct end-user support SKILLS/ABILITIES: * Attention to detail and accuracy * Good communication skills, both verbal and written * Excellent analytical and problem solving skills * Ability to successfully manage multiple projects/clients, time and resources * Ability to work within specific budgets and timeframes * Effective interpersonal skills; the ability to handle objections and counter feedback professionally as necessary * Ability to stay abreast of and learn new networking technologies * Ability to work independently and with others
